Overlooked and underappreciated, the stories and contributions of women are often ignored by history. But dames were doing the damn thing, working and improving and fighting and being badass whether historians noticed or not. Righteous Dames is an effort to improve the historical record, albeit with tongue planted firmly in cheek.

History is messy and cruel – especially to women who refused to “stay in their place”. SOME MATERIAL DISCUSSED CAN DEFINITELY BE CONSIDERED UPSETTING. While we do not want to glorify the horror that is history, we will not shy away from the terrible circumstances that these women moved through. Context is necessary to understand how amazing these women really are.
